Review:
This is my first spa, and it has exceeded all expectations.
My wife and I have been in other hot tubs and spas while staying at various
B&Bs, etc. but have never considered buying one before. After a recent
vacation, however, we got the bug, and began shopping. We had no expectations,
to begin with.
After looking at several spas, we visited Paddock Pools in Glendale, AZ, and
were immediately impressed and sold on the Sundance Optima. Subsequent research
on the internet confirmed the quality and reputation of this spa, and we ordered
it. It took a bit longer to deliver than we were told (six weeks), but when it
arrived, delivery and installation went without a hitch, except that a large
crane had to be used to lift it over our house into the back yard (quit an
experience, but no hassle). That cost another $410, but was anticipated. We were
initially going to put in in the back yard and put in a pad and walkway, but due
to the very hot summers and exposure, decided to put it on the back patio, under
a roof, and just outside the bedroom door. It was a very good decision.
The sales person pointed out that the more convenient and close it was, the more
we would use it, and she was correct. We are in it several times a day, especially
just before bed, and WOW, is that relaxing. After a round of golf, it soaks all
aches and pains away.
We also ordered the optional Bose Stereo system built into it, and while
expensive, it is well worth it. Everything works great. Startup and maintenance
are a breeze, and the follow up orientation was quick and thorough. The quality
is evident in the whole spa. We also bought the cover lifter, and that makes it
a snap to cover and uncover in just seconds. One caution on location. Make
absolutely certain of ALL measurements and clearances before order and
installation. We learned the hard way that a support beam on the patio
restricted the cover operation, and we had to change it to open to the side,
rather than front to rear, but that actually turned into a lucky change, because
it is much easier to do than our original plan.
We have not had it long enough to have any service problems, but anticipate no
issues, since Paddock ahs been very responsive. This is considered a
"therapy" spa, as it has all of the jets and therapy action, and I
can\'t think of anything it lacks.
We can enthusiastically recommend this unit to anyone who is seriously shopping,
with one caveat. It IS expensive, but in our opinion, is darn well worth it!
