Jacuzzi Essence 310 Spa Review

The brand Jacuzzi has become almost synonymous with hot tubs, and the Jacuzzi Essence 310 Spa lives up to its predecessors. It is the smallest of the Jacuzzi models. As such it's not really a hot tub for a large family or someone who wants to entertain, but it's great for two, possibly three people -- very intimate without feeling claustrophobic. It's small enough that you could put it in your house if wanted, instead of the backyard. Unlike other so-cold portable spas, the Jacuzzi Essence could conceivably be moved without too much effort. It's purposely designed to be able to fit through doorways when turned on its side.

There are a total of 13 jets. The jet pressure is excellent and the all in all equipment and design of the spa are high-quality. Likewise, the acrylic shell has a durable feel to it. We chose to get an ozonator installed with our model, which has helped make maintenance simple. (With the addition of an ozonator, you can use roughly 25% fewer chemicals). Our electric bill has gone up about eight dollars a month, which is pretty reasonable considering I have heard nightmares from other people having hot tubs installed and seeing their bill shoot up $40/mo.

The only bad thing about the 310 is that it is pricier than other two-person models out there. Jacuzzi is a brand known for quality, however, and I'm glad we sprung for a higher-quality well-insulated spa from a respectable brand. Our neighbor (the same one who saw his electricity bill skyrocket) bought a lesser-known brand from a dealer on eBay (a dealer whose idea of delivery was leaving it at the curb for them to manhandle around to the backyard), and they've had nothing but trouble. Our price tag of a little under $4,000 included delivery to the concrete pad in our backyard and set-up.
